Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris was born on October 20 1964. She is an American politician. She is the first woman to hold the vice president and is the highest ranking female official in U.S history. She is a member of the Democratic Party and was previously the attorney general of California between 2011 and 2017. Additionally she was an United States senator representing California between 2017-2021. Harris was born in Oakland, California. She graduated from Howard University as well as the University of California Hastings College of the Law. She began her career in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office prior to her move to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office and then to the City Attorney of San Francisco's office. She was elected San Francisco district attorney in 2003. She was elected Attorney-General of California in 2010, and was elected again in 2014. Harris was the junior United States Senate from California between 2017 and 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Martinez in 2016's Senate election to become the 2nd African American woman and first South Asian American senator to be elected to the United States Senate. She was a senator , and campaigned for reforms to healthcare, federal cannabis de-scheduling, an opportunity to become a citizen for immigrants who are not legally documented and the DREAM Act, a ban against assault weapons and progressive tax reform. Her name is well-known due to the direct questioning she conducted of Trump government officials during Senate hearings.
