Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara OOC was born March 4 1954. O'Hara has been awarded a range of awards, including the Genie Award, a Golden Globe Award and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. She also won two Primetime Emmy Awards and six Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018, she was named an Officer of Canada and in 2020, she received the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement award. O'Hara's first recognition as an actress when she was part of The Second City improv comedy troupe in Toronto in 1974. Alongside John Candy (1975-1978), she was part of the primary casting in the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). In the next year, O'Hara and Candy began work in the sketch comedy program Second City Television (1976-1984) in which she received praise from critics for her performance as a comedic actress as well as a writer. She was awarded a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series in 1981. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the brand-new Second City artistic advisory board headed by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
