Kyra Minturn
Kyraminturn Sedgwick was born August 19, 1965. She is an American producer and actress. Her most well-known role is that of Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick received an Emmy Award in 2010 and an Emmy Award in 2010 and a Golden Globe Award for 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson. The series ended on August 13th, 2012 following the conclusion of the seventh season. Sedgwick is also famous for her recurring character as Madeline Wuntch, on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was nominated to a Golden Globe award in 1995 for her performance in Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's film credits include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's singles (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) The Cooking (2000), Secondhand Lions (2003), The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald who was an therapist for speech and family as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV who was a venture capitalist. Her birthplace was in New York City. Her mother, who was Jewish was of English and Episcopalian descent. Sedgwick has openly declared her Jewish heritage and said that she participates in Passover seders.
